| Im planting a jacaranda and wanted to know if there is a way to plant it so that its roots dont ruin and lift up the sidewalk and street, like a specific planting depth. |

| Root barriers can keep the tree from growing roots under the sidewalk and street (at least for a time), but if you don't have plenty of room for the root system (and it sounds like you probably don't), I wouldn't recommend planting the tree there. Planting depth is NOT the way to address the situation! |

| there is nothing you can do ... to change its genetic rooting pattern .. period ... if you know its going to be a problem.. then odds are.. wait for it.. ITS GOING TO BE A PROBLEM ... and no barrier will stop it.. really if it lifts sidewalks.. is a little plastic barrier going to stop it??? ken

| Effective tree root barriers are often more than "a little plastic barrier". Just say'n...... |
