Identify Tree Bark

IM guessing pine bark but im not sure cause the color looks different

At any rate, is this a comedy skit? No location, an out-of-focus picture of a small piece...maybe I'm too old for the pranks the kids do these days...

I found it in western canada, not sure if it was imported
the size of the nuggets were 4-6 inches long but i broke off pieces of it so its usable.

i tried that site but when it got the the types of leaves i had no idea since i didnt harvest it myself

If it smells faintly like vanilla, ponderosa pine if from a native of the area, otherwise still not enough information.

it smells kind of sour, i think its used for mulch so is it possible its a pine bark
