This was a couple weeks ago now (ok, so I need to download from my camera a bit more often). Planted as a 10 footer in 2000 it is nearing 30 feet high now. Though a very nice show both spring and fall, alas, the show is fleeting. Fortunately the summer folliage is a nice attractive deep green. And being warned it would not like clay, I planted one third of the rootball above grade in my sometimes chewing gum clay.

Gorgeous! Are you going to eventually sacrifice it for the conifers planted beneath the canopy?

Epic! I'll set something up to stop out soon.

Maybe that time is now?

Thanks, folks.

j0nd03- One conifer is a Picea omorika 'Nana' and it has 15-20 years befare being an issue at its current growth rate. The other, a Juniperus scopulorum that, though not an issue now, I've been debating pruning at ground level.

Whaas- This week's predicted weather should have things poppin'. Just let me know.
