you water.. when a tree needs water .. and then let it NEAR dry .. drainage is the issue ... and you seem to have such ...

you figure it all out.. by inserting finger and finding out the status of moisture in your soil ...

there are no schedules.. its not a calender thing.. and no one can insert their finger for you ...

on a slope.. figure out how to apply water.. so it soaks in.. deep thru the root mass planted ... without running downhill and carrying away soil ... and that usually involves a moat of some kind on the downhill side ..

frankly.. your soil should be near on perfect for trees.... so dont think its some kind of problem ... with what we suspect is high drainage.. you may need to water more often than others.. but again ... only you can figure it out ... you and your finger ...

and.. being spring and all.. cold soil holds water for a very long time.... you may not need to water deeply.. until the temps start rising... especially at night ... if i were to plant and water in something today ... it might not need water until mid june or july ... but i would be checking at least once a week until then.. learning how the soil moisture rates fluctuate ...
