Looking for container grown 5ft-6ft Green Giant in MD/VA/PA

I am specificially looking for container grown only. 5-6 ft tall. Thuja Green Giant. I do not want B&B trees.

If anyone has seen this exact spec in person at a store within reasonable distance to Central Maryland , please let me know.

I already know what stores carry them so I have been checking the local nursery's, HD, and Lowes, etc but have not been able to find bigger than 4ft...Hopefully my search can end quicker with your help!

Why do you need them so large? How many do you need? I planted some last year that were 2' tall in spring, by fall they were 3.5 to 4' tall. That's just 6-7 months. After this spring, they should be pushing 5'... So in 1 year they went from 2' to 5'.

The only place I can think of that sells them this large is botanyshop.com (mail order)... they have a special buy (2) Green Giants in 5 gallon containers for $160 total including shipping. So that comes down to $80 each out the door. If you need a couple that isn't to bad, but if you need 100 or something that's a lot to drop on a tree that grows so fast.

OCDeverything,

Unless you have a highly unique situation (such as, you are building a display that includes larger Green Giants and need it to be complete in the near future), you are making a mistake by starting with Green Giants that big. You're trees will take much longer to overcome transplant shock, will grow more slowly for at least a few years than similar smaller trees, will require much more labor to properly plant, will be more expensive to purchase, and almost certainly will have an inferior root structure that is less able to adapt to their new environment. In most all situations, you'd be far better served by 1 to 5-gallon plants.

what they said.. but i will yell ...

INSURE THEY ARE SINGLE LEADER PLANTS ...

love the name.. if you are OCD.. i guess it does involve EVERYTHING.. lol ..

but let me reiterate ... a 3 foot plant.. will get its roots 'established' .. and outgrow the 6 foot transplant.. inside 3 years.. just for the simple fact of reduced stress .. plus.. cheaper.. easier to move/transport ... and easier to plant .. etc ...
