Ugh. Unless I'm mistaken, many crabapples are grafted, so you better get rid of all the ones coming from the ground. They aren't the same tree. Photos would help, but it might be better to start again if you have some sort of warranty (probably not for deer attack, but just in case)

I know for a fact its sprouts. It seems to be ok enough not to drop leaves or any wood death. I think I'm gonna wait it out to see if it will take off again. My father says to keep it because the crown was to low anyways. Lol. He says he's seen crabs get desimated by deer when they were young and bounce back. I have been pulling out all sprouts and I check it daily.

They will probably survive but will require corrective pruning for years to get a decent shape back. I'd be seriously tempted to start over with new trees, especially if these are in any sort of featured location where esthetics are important.

As far as the root shoots go, IMO that's just par for the course with most crabapples.
