| We have a tree at the very edge of our front yard that I believe was planted over a decade ago, but we can't remember what it was. I'm thinking it's a pomegranate, but I'm not absolutely sure. Does anybody know?
In the past decade, we've gotten down to 10 degrees (or slightly lower) in the winter. If this is a regular old pomegranate, how could it have survived such temperatures? Also, what kind of pomegranate would it be, if it is one? Thanks for any info. |

| It's a Punica granatum - probably a named variety, commonly called pomegranate, so you are correct. They are all over the place here (zone 9b) - I believe hardy to zone 7 or so, and you're 8A. 'Nana' is a common variety - you might check with a local nursery to determine which varieties are sold locally, that might help you narrow it down. |

| Thanks, formandfoliage. Maybe I should look for fruit this year, I guess? I believe I ordered it from Gurney's, so I could check out their Web site to see what they have listed. |
