Hi
I have a yoshino cherry tree that i purchased from a local nursery and planted in my back yard, in early april.
after 3 weeks or so i moved it to a much sunnier area.
i had it in the shade but it wasn't producing leaves.
now that i've had it in the new area for about a week, i'm still not seeing very many leaves.
only about 8 or so. some that are curled.
I have watered it, and i have also replaced the surrounding soil to a more sandy mix (didn't know if it was getting too much water and i know they like drainage)
anyway, my question is, is this normal and how slow do these things grow?

Multiple queries over the years from people asking about similar problems with this tree back East. Maybe you should just try another kind.
