Does anyone know if you can put ant powder on a tree?? I have a fruit tree which seems to be being eaten (the bark on the trunk of the tree) by ants. There are loads of them running up and down the tree and the bark is quite badly damaged. I saw ants going into the damage. The tree does seem to be ok and is flowering but can I put ant powder on the tree to kill the ants before they kill the tree??

ants do not kill trees ... they are usually there usually farming aphids or scale for honeydew ...

do not apply any chemical.. until you get a full and proper ID of the problem ...

there is a fruit forum.. and i have never seen any of those experts here in the tree forum ...
