Transplanted tree

sajeev

I transplanted a mango tree about 12 feet tall with stem about 4 inches diameter 10 weeks ago. The tree roots were dug out on one half and burlapped for one week with watering daily. It was then transplanted about twenty feet away in similar soil. It has been watered regularly.
However, the tree now appears to have dried up. The side branches are completely dry and when snapped off are dry on the inside core. The main stem appears dry and powdery when I tried a slash about 1/2 inch deep.
Is there any way to save this tree? It is about four years old and was growing well but had to be transplanted because of house construction. I live in the Caribbean.
Thanks for any advice.
