Hope he doesn't do anymore damage. If you have to you could always trap him and then relocate him in a metal trap using some bait like apples and carrots. Good luck!

Apparently my neighbor across the street now has an infestation of Norwegian wharf rats (according to an exterminator). For several years he complained about "squirrels" chewing on his big plastic trash bin, the bumper on his truck and other heavy duty plastic items.

His neighbor feeds the deer large (huge) amounts of corn. That is suspected to be part of the problem.

He (or she) so far seems to chew off only these bushy willows that line the bank. Wiki-article I linked above suggest they are picky about what they eat, so maybe it wouldn't like baldcypress. That's the only thing I really want to protect.
