Should I fertilize my newly planted tree?

I planted a Shummard Red Oak about 3 weeks ago. Its about 4 1/2 inch caliper and approx. 15 feet tall. It was not container grown. I live about 45 minutes north of Dallas, Tx. I used a root stimulator on it when it was first planted, and I now use super thrive on it about once a week. Should I fertilize it now or wait until next year?
