After 2 weeks of it being a bit dry, we've gotten rain. And tons of it. Here in Central Indiana, we've had 1.75 inches of rain since yesterday afternoon. Even as I type, the sky is darkening again! I don't mind; we do need it - Everything's green again! Unfortunately, if it rains any more, we are going to get flooding. Not what I need, especially since most of my trees I planted this year are along a big creek!

I'm in NY and I loved the rain last night, all night long, and it was still raining this morning when I woke up. I wish it would do that once a week so I wouldn't have to get the garden hose out. lol

Fun fact: Indianapolis gets 4 inches of rain more than Seattle per year, on average! (Seattle doesn't actually get that much rain per year, and if you go by what i've recorded in my rain guage, Indianapolis' rainfall is more like 50 inches a year) And no, the guage isn't sitting under the edge of the roof.

I think Seattle gets about 37 inches a year. It rains all winter here. More a drizzle than a hard rain. I can usually work out in it.......for awhile. Our summers are quite dry....all two weeks of it. Mike.....inside watching it rain. |

Bone dry here. In fact, we are going into year 3 of a very serious drought. We are now in what is considered "exceptional drought" - highest on the scale. Springs that have never been dry are now, native trees are suffering and I am very worried about my well. On top of the lack of rain, I live on 5 acres of deep sand, so keeping my garden watered is very tough, especially considering that highs are approaching 90 F every day and it is windy. This getting very serious.

We just got 2 1/4 inches of rain today - The creek did run over its banks. I'll have to go out tomorrow and see if I can find my plants!! Actually, it didn't flood any more than it usually does. The frogs sure love it!
