The tree looks like a cultivar of Trident maple (Acer beurgeranum) with some tar spot problems (google "maple tar spot"). It also looks like it has a couple of old "battle wounds." You might want to have a ISA Certified Arborist in your area take a look to be on the safe side. You would not want that guy to fall and cause damage.

I think it's Maple Anthracnose. I'm seeing some of it this year on our maples as well. Not bad, but it is there, and has not been before. When the weather warms and dries, it will stop, but those leaves will never look like they did, but the trees should be fine.
