Need help with fungus on unknown tree

Posted by jamshed 7 (My Page) on

I have this tree I cannot identify in my front yard. It has not grown much in the past 20 years that we have been in the house, but it has survived all the same. :)

I do notice that it has this green fungus or scaly growth on the trunk and branches.

Is this an issue? Anything I should do about it?

Any help appreciated.

It isn't fungus, it's a lichen and it's harmless
