Do Junipers typically have a second pollination period?

No. But should there be any that are a kind that takes more than one year to mature seed cones these may have ones from the previous year present whether the pollen cones have opened yet or not.

I don't remember if junipers ever do this or not. But by this time of the year you should be able to tell what your trees are planning by looking at them.

I was reading something that said the Junipers that produce berries are female and don't produce pollen. If the 4 large junipers outside my balcony all have berries now, then they're female, right?--and they wouldn't produce pollen anyway?

Of course that would do nothing about what's in the air anyway. But the link below says this:

"Wise gardeners will purchase and plant junipers that are female plants (with cones). By planting only female plants in your landscape, you will at least not increase the concentration of juniper pollen near your personal living environment. There will be juniper pollen from the surrounding forest and from neighbors, but distance is your friend. As the pollen travels in the wind, it is diluted."

That is correct for some junipers - some are monoecious, some are dioecious. Most redcedars are either male or female. However, in order for the females to be loaded with berries there have to be some males nearby pumping out pollen.

So monoecious junipers would be self-pollenating, which means even if there are berries now pollen may have been produced at the site of the plant.

All the tall junipers on the site appear to have berries. There are some junipers cut down that look a little different. they have some pointed branches as well as the smooth branches I see on the females.

"Female juniper plants make the cones that produce seeds; male junipers produce only pollen cones. The pollen cones are small and almost unnoticeable until they turn yellow in the spring (as they produce pollen) and then brown after pollen production. After turning brown, they will fall from the plant and be undetectable. The female berry-like cones persist and identify the female plants (once they have begun production of cones)."

The smaller bushes have no berries, but I can't tell if it's because they've been cut down.
