Trouble with Cherry tree please help.

I planted a cherry tree as well as others about a month ago. This is the first time I have planted anything and i think I might have bitten more then I can chew. My cherry tree is about 4 feet tall. At first the leaves begin to get droopy then i started noticing small holes on them. The fringes of the leaves are now brown and some leaves are turning completely yellow. Any advice you can provide will be most appreciated. I would also like to know how much water do they require (in gallons if possible) per week. Thanks.

Does look like it needs to be watered. Water enough to keep the whole rooting area moist. Mulch the soil to reduce baking of the ground by the sun.

are you somewhere hot and dry? It could just be lack of water. Could also be bacterial or fungal leaf scorch :(

RE: Trouble with Cherry tree please help.

one would hope.. that a newly purchased tree came disease free from the vendor ...

its most likely ALL transplant shock ... especially if it was planted AFTER leafing out ...

once a leaf is shocked, and thereby damaged ... due to a loss of water due to root disturbance ... we cant really jump to disease and bug diagnosis ... in most cases ...

see link for proper planting .. especially in regard to proper watering ...

and no.. fert will not help a stressed tree ... its not hungry ... its disturbed... [lol.. i gotta remember that one]
