| Help, I planted a tulip poplar tree approx 2 years ago it was coming along nicely, We had a very strange spring May was extremely hot tempt 80 degree and then dropped to cold temp back and forth. The tree had its green leaves and yellow flowers then like overnight the leaves where shriveled up and hanging to the branch. I should also mention that I bought a 3 ft tree of the same kind from "Fast Growing Tree Nursery" and it did the same thing. Could it be dormant, dying? The main truck is green branches have some flexibility although I really don't know how to tell. Any information would be appreciated.
I am from western Pennsylvania area. |

| Sounds like frost/freeze damage. If its strong, it should recover. |

| I've seen this on two liriodendron and found cankers at the base of both. You might want to have a look to see if there are any lesions just about at soil level. It's touted as being an easy tree and not terribly pest prone but I've found that not to be the case in this area, especially with nursery acquired stock. |
