Jane Magnolia: can I turn it into a tree or is it too bushy

I'm still thinking about Magnolia's, in particular Jane. I really would like a tree shape (multistem tree is fine)I just don't want a bush. I don't think I have it in me to browbeat a bush into being a tree seems like a loosing proposition. Are there other magnolias that would be more amenable to being a tree? The blossoms must be the pink/purple, and it can't be too wide (I'd like less than 15 feet wide at max...).

I know I would have to prune a little. I just don't want to prune a lot.
Thanks a lot

There are many other cultivars on the market.
