Italian Cypress accident! HELP!

| I have 25 italian cypress trees that served as a privacy screen from my neighbor's 2nd story balcony.
The trees were about 10 years old, approximately 15 feet tall.
The trees were mistakenly cut down to a height of about 7.5 feet tall (the diameter at cut was about 3 -4 inches thick)
My question: will the tree eventually regain its 15 feet height and once again serve as a privacy screen?
I am beside myself! ARRGHH!
Please post any experience you may know. THANKS! |

| Cypress will typically try to generate a new leader if something happens to the main one. Usually this will be one of the upper 2-3 small limbs. There will probably be more than one leader emerge. Have never seen this happen 1/2 way down a tree, so perhaps someone else can chime in. Sorry for your loss. |

| Pictures help. Also, why were they mistakenly cut? |

| SCOUTJE - Yes, the *YOUNGER* trees, I'm not too worried about. It's the tree with the 3 -4 inch diameter trunk that I'm concerned about. I can't picture a new leader (although I hope I'm wrong) FAMARTIN - Before and After pictures. I had to be at work and before I left home I gave specific instructions. The person SCREWED UP.

| I hope you weren't paying that person. If you were, they shouldn't get any money for that. |

It's obvious to anyone what the purpose of those trees is. Was there a language barrier? Mike |

| Let us pray...please don't let the wielder of the pruning tools be a family member. Amen. |
