What tree should I get??

I have a crab apple tree out front of my one story house and it is the same height as my house, I would like to cut it down and replace it with a much cleaner tree but I'm looking for something fast growing & sturdy to provide the shade that it provides for me now. Any suggestions?

Really it seems the oaks have a bum rap for slow growth. Especially when young they seem to do ok.

Nyssa Sylvatica, aka black gum or tupelo or tulip magnolia, it has a different name in every zip code so use the latin, has to be the cleanest tree I know of the right shape. Great fall color also but it is not fast growing.

Um....Bald Cypress' cousin Dawn Redwood is a FAST growing tree. Limb it up for a formal straight trunk. More pyramidal in shape than I think of when I think of shade, but sturdy and clean.
