that would be a bug.. not an infection ...

and it is of little or no significance

Well......we might have an argument on the source of these holes :-) Cherries - Prunus species in general - are extremely prone to something known as shothole disease. This causes small lesions of necrotic tissue on the foliage that eventually fall out, leaving a myriad of small holes.......like the plant was blasted with a shotgun :-) Very common problem after wet, mild springs.

There are both fungal and bacterial forms of this problem. Unless the issue gets very severe and you are experiencing a lot of defoliation, you really don't need to do anything. Just clean up well and dispose of all fallen leaves. And avoid any overhead watering. More weather-related than not so may not even show up again next spring.
