Bald cypress. Was in the Dallas area briefly many yrs ago, and surprised how many bald cypresses were planted there.

Somewhat surprising in light of the alkalineish soils in DFW and BC's tendency to get chlorotic, although I believe baldcypress is native there.

BC seed from the far western part of the range (Texas) is said to perform better in neutral to alkaline pH...as does the related Montezuma cypress from what I have read.
