Hey folks,
Was wondering the tree gurus thoughts on this species katsura tree. As hopefully you can see from the pics, the top half of the tree is not leaved out at all. Bottom half continues to push foliage, albeit small.
Bought it from a local nursery where it was in a a 5 gallon pot. Planted in early April, didn't have the leaves at the top then either. Guessing the tree is at approx 12 feet tall.
My question is, is it worth keeping or time to replace. My other question is if I do keep it and the top doesn't leaf out, does it need to be topped to the new growth? Does have buds, but not looking like they'll bud out.
In eastern ks, zone 5b/6a heavy clay loam.
