It's a shame we lost Arborvillage Nursery, they, even more than Forestfarm, seemed to focus on obscure hardy trees. (Forestfarm. better of course for zn 7, 8 subtropical ones, and cultivars) I had a Quercus libani from them that I lost because like a damn fool I tried to move it in the middle of summer. _ALWAYS_ move deciduous stuff in winter; it just works. (most non-tender perennials or woody plants, actually)
One of those species that often gives hybrid seedlings when raised from seed. Nurseries such as forestfarm that stock one or both of the named cultivars on the market will be able to supply plants that are true-to-type. But you have to settle for the size and price of grafted plants.
Thanks everyone.. I knew forestfarm carries that cultivar, but it is in the 5 gal size... I was looking for the plain species, in a much more manageable size... Quercus libani will be a good species to try here.. but I figure it would be almost impossible to find it here.. sad to hear you lost it...
