all trees will releader ... thought at that height.. i dont know how you could try to speed the process ...

i am not sure strangling it.. to save a separate plant is the best thing... why dont you stake the other properly.. and independently ...

In your pic, the branch at the very top on the right side, has a new candle that is kinda pointing up.

$100 says that becomes the new leader. You'll have a little kink in the trunk, but over time it will be less noticeable.
