Crape Myrtle but with large "blue" flowers?

There are more questions, the pictures are taken in Southern China.

These appear to be Oleanders but they are very tall, look like trees. The sweat scent and blooms last for more than half a year.

That is NOT a morning dove!

Finally, this is cool. This big "fly" actually paralysed and ate a beetle that looked like a Japanese beetle:

Not sure how many of those you are tying to ID.

If we are talking zone 10 - tropical China, then the second one could be LAGERSTROEMIA SPECIOSA, the Queen Crape Myrtle. But I've never seen it in real life.

Beneath all the oleadner pics, the small tree blooming with white blooms and very glossy leaves could be a Viburnum -- possibly V. awabuki. or V. odoratissimum.

Dave, the first two pictures were taken in zone 9a. The rest were taken in zone 8b. Any other suggestions? Don't you like the big "fly"?
