OT question. Someone abandoned 2 adult Bunnies on our property.

They are HUGE! They look extremely well fed, and they love chasing each other across our yard.. There is no doubt they were someone's pet....

I won't let DD get near them though, since shes not allowed to approach any animal that she doesn't know..

My question is will they likely survive out here if they were someone's pet? We live in a rural area on a lake. There are millions of rabbits here, but they are wild rabbits, not anyone's pets.

I can't believe anyone would abandon an animal like that. Pets are members of our family, not to be dropped off to fend for themselves in a strange place...

That's what DH thinks is going to happen. He said rabbits that have been raised as pets would not have the survival skills needed to live outside, with all the predators around here.

You could always adopt them and make them earn their keep with rabbit manure that is great for the compost pile. [g]

Please catch them up! Call local humane society or police community service officer. I'm betting there is a rabbit rescue somewhere near you. Shame on the folks that just dumped them!
