What type of Oak?

I have been using google to figure out what kind of oaks I have in my yard, but one source will say one type and another will say something else. From what I saw on a website it says this type of leaf was a variant of a Southern Red Oak. I have a few of these oaks in the yard as well as at least two or three other types of oaks. On a couple of large oaks, not this type, the branches are pretty much void of leaves except for the very tops of the trees. I do have a lot of trees in the yard and thought maybe the lower branches are no longer getting enough sunshine but then I read about various borer insects and diseases affecting oaks and pines, I have large pine the same way. I see in the daytime these black flying bugs which look similar to fireflys but don't light up or have red or orange at the head. They fly slightly faster then slow moving fireflys and wonder if they are what is affecting the trees.
