In the post I previously posted about my new planted trees, I found out that they had transplant shock. My questions are: if my trees survive the first year even with transplant shock, will they grow next year and be fine? my other one is: if trees have transplant shock resulting in leaf discoloration, will they survive the next year? lastly- will transplanted trees with leaf discoloration because of leaf shock still fruit and be collected?

If they are still alive (as in some parts are still green and not wilted) they can survive. Just make sure they stay moist (not *wet*) and don't dry out this summer and fall. If their shock results in a large loss of branches (which IS possible) then it may not be worth it to save them as opposed to replacing them.

why dont you link us to the other post.. because i have no clue what this is all about ... the leaf discoloration IS THE SHOCK ... if properly watered.. it might already be over the shock .. but those leaves themselves.. will never recover.. the damage is done ... i cant go any further.. because i dont know what trees.. when planted ... etc ... but let me say one thing.. TIMING IS EVERYTHING... and if you wish to plant more trees.. clearly ID the PROPER PLANTING TIME ... it really.. i mean really.. improves your success rate ... ken
