Prune damaged branch on Redbud?

We have an eastern redbud with one branch that has brown dead leaves at the end. The rest of the tree looks pretty good this summer, but we have to give it lots of water as it is hot and dry here. Should I trim off the branch now, or let it be for this season?

At this time of year, always prune away any dead, diseased, damaged portions of woody plants as soon as you notice the problem. You are doing your plant no favors by leaving that dead branch. Prune it cleanly to an outward growing branch.
