Weeping spiral cherry

My question is...if one has hardscape can they allow the branches of a weeping cherry to spread out on the rocks? Or must they be pruned to not touch the ground? Would love to allow these branches I think...to spread out from it. But...do not wish to harm the tree itself.

Found my answer...if anyone curious...

"leave the branches uncut so they rain down and run along the ground to also form a ground cover"
