This tree started growing in our garden next to the house about 4 weeks ago. Its about 5ft high. We have several oaks and Maple and Hickory trees on the property but none like this. Can someone identify it?

liriodendron tulipifera---"yellow poplar"/"tulip tree" (actually a member of the magnolia family).

Wow thank you, I have no Idea where it came from. I have not seen anything like it around here. I do have to transplant it though. I will wait until the fall.

Thanks a lot.

RE: Tree identification Please

this beautiful tree can grow rather fast and large (to around 100' or more in time) so you might want to consider putting it somewhere where there is adequate space for a mature tree. good luck.
