Hi, I was just curious as to what type of Tree this was. If anyone could identify it for me that would be great :)

Some kind of acacia. There are hundreds of species and hybrids, so pinning it down may be a challenge.

I used to have a eucalyptus and the leaves look like that. All of the acacias I've seen have very fine, feathered leaves. There are many of them here where I am and they don't look like that, and the blooms don't, either.

When you pinch one between your fingers, does it have an aromatic smell? There are many of eucalyptus. Where are you? They aren't cold hardy, so you must be in a mild climate.

OP is in Queensland, Australia.

The flowers do look like an Acacia aka Wattle, but there are loads as denninmi says and I can't help you any further. There's a similar looking one at the link but this is way out of my experience.

Here is a link that might be useful: Acacia auriculiformis

RE: Identification

I though possibly some kind of Euc, but I've never seen long, thin, almost "tassel" like flower clusters on a Euc. There are actually many species of Acacia with "sickle" type leaves, there is even a special name for this shape of leave, starts with "p" but I can't find it again. But then again, the bark I see in the background looks Euc-like to me.

If the OP found any seed pods, that would be a good clue, acacias have long, thin, flat pods typical of legumes, Eucs have a small, hard, woody capsule.

Really, I'm a public menace when it comes to trying to ID a tree half the world away in a climate nothing like mine -- well, at least my heart is in the right place, trying to be helpful. :-)
