| Okay, time to play another round of Seedling or Weedling...
I found this growing near another seedling I have potted up, and don't know where it came from as I don't see similar sprouts anywhere else in my yard. It doesn't grow fast like a weed. Comments as to what it is? Thanks as always, vince |

| My guess would be sycamore seedling with a 90% sure. It should start getting three lobed leaves as the next couple leafs start coming out. Once it gets its roots down it will grow fast like a weed.... which is good if it's something you want. |

| I'm moderately confident that it is a seedling American sycamore (Platanus occidentalis). I've only seen a few seedlings of this from one down the road about 2/10ths of mile, so that is why my confidence level is medium. Sycamore at very first doesn't have the characteristic lobed, maple like leaves, it almost resembles a seedling hazelnut/filbert until it gets about 5-6 inches tall, then develops the more typical leaf. I found an online image of some young seedlings roughly the same size, and they look pretty similar. |

| Thanks!! I never would have guessed, but feel good I was correct in thinking it was a tree. Sycamore is right on, as there are a few mature Sycamores close to me. Odd that I don't see any other Sycamore sprouts but I see lots of Norway Maples. Now to ID all the others that are "popping up"... vince |

| That's definitely some type of Platanus, either an American Sycamore or maybe a London Plane seedling. |
