| Hi, we purchased our house three years ago and each summer our lime green Japanese Maple has done this. In this spring it seems ok, but then in July the leaves start to brown up on the ends and shrivel. It almost looks like they are burned.
Could anyone please tell me what this could be?

| Many of the lighter colored Japanese Maples do this in the hot summer months. They prefer some afternoon shade and will crisp up when they do not get it. It is a combination of dry soils, intense sun, and heat. The tree will be fine and likely do this every year. |

| well.. its growing straight out the wall of the house.. whats that all about ... we need a closer up pic of the leaves ... most likely.. its what victor said.. what is your watering regimen??? ... is it in a watered lawn??? a little supplemental water.. might get it further into summer.. ken |

| Ahhh, do you water deeply in dry weather? Many JM's can handle full sun IF they are watered properly. We have two in sun. One is afternoon only, the other is all day every day. The later has been in the ground a few months, but only has minor burn. But I keep close tabs on it water wise. Plus our weather has been around +/-100F, VERY DRY air, and lots of wind. Worst combo, but again, minor burn that should improve next year, and with more traditional weather. Arktrees |
