The videos don't address what you need to do for trees that don't want to take a drink from the macro infusion solution.

"Some of our trees don't uptake well either. It can be weather related, or the tree is already seriously infected but not yet symptomatic, or who knows. They usually don't absorb well during rain, or serious drought, or cool weather, or foggy weather, or overnight. The best is a pleasant sunny day with a breeze and adequate but not excessive soil moisture. If you don't get good uptake (not necessarily complete) within 24 hours on a particular tree I would pull the plug and go to the next tree. Remember to do your trenching after treating, and do not cut the symptomatic trees until after the trenching and macro-infusion are done, but then cut them quickly, burn or bury them immediately, and cover the stumps to seal out vector insects." The weather has been very hot here ... 100+ and very dry. It hasn't rained in the last few weeks and we're not really expecting rain until late august or early September. This is normal for this time of year here in south Texas, assuming we don't get a tropical storm in the gulf.

I read somewhere that live oaks tend to shut down to conserve water in such conditions. Three of the 4 trees I'm trying to treat have had the barrels on them for a week and did very little uptake. The fourth tree took in about a gallon and a half of the 2-1/2 gallons from its tank. All of the trees are showing early symptoms, so they may be lost causes. I suppose it may be a case of the trees being sicker than they appear in combination with the hot weather explaining the poor uptake.
