Yuck

After mowing this morning I sat down in the pleasant shade of a red oak to cool off. On one twig all of the leaves had been skeletonized so I took a closer look and found these aptly named critters - slug sawfly. They skeletonize the leaves from the underside. In the sunlight hey glisten just like a transparent slug. Nasty looking!
