It certainly is a cherry of some sort - leaves and bark are clearly indicative of that. You'll have to wait until it blooms to determine if really a Kanzan. Ornamental or flowering cherries are primarily distinguishable by their flowers.

'Kanzan' produces dark bronze-red new growth. Tree shown is producing green young leaves.

i was wondering can u graft another cherry like, Yoshino on to this one ? or you won't know until we figure out what this tree is ?
