My guess is that it is a Silver Maple. A close up of the leaves would be helpful. Out west here where the soil is alkali, they all look like that, and then they die.

i have an oak of similar color ... concordia ... but surely.. on these pix.. i cant see a leaf to argue with that above .. link

Ken - it most definitely is a maple. If you blow up the photo you might even be able to see the leaves. My street is full of maples. Even though I knew it was a maple, the color was different from anything I had seen before. I usually look at the tags, but was in a hurry this time.
