I got a 1.5 ft. or so parfianka pomegranate tree for my backyard and cut the tips off all the small branches at an angle and cut off about a half an inch on all the big main branches at an angle for new growth, i also cut off some small branches too. i just wanna know if the tree will be ok and if it will bloom more next year and continue growing. thank you

Good grief! That sure isn't the way to prune your pomegranate shrub. If it was healthy and established to start with, it should overcome this without much problem. Of course at 1.5', it can't be much more than a rooted cutting just getting started. Put away those pruners!

but if you cut the tips of it grows bushier and new growth forms. also does it really have to be pruned a certain way or should i just let it grow and just cut dead and crossing branches. will i get more blooms as well

At that size, pruning the tips will have next to nothing to do with how bushy it is in a year or so. If you leave it alone, it will grow numerous shoots within the next few years and get plenty bushy. At this young point in its life, only crossing, rubbing, dead, or diseased branches should be removed. If you are planning to use it for fruit, you'll probably want to start removing shoots (trunks) in a few years. There are a few good videos online that talk about this, if you can find them (yourtube, etc). If you are in a warmer area (probably the case, since your in CA), you may want to limit the number of trunks to one, two, or three. As the plant gets quite a bit bigger, you'll likely want to start limiting the height to a level convenient for you to reach for harvesting and maintenance.
