 o
Jacaranda sick

HI I need some help please. I planted a jacaranda about 3 months ago about a foot tall. We live in South Australia and have quite clay'ish soil so I dug a large hole hoping for a little more drainage. The weather hasn't been too frosty but lately the top little 'branchlets' have been dropping off and the leaves on the rest are slowly going brown.

Is my tree dying? Is there anything I can do to help/save it?I really don't want to lose her. She's in bright sun with plenty of space around..thanks

RE: Jacaranda sick

Castro,

I think this subject is hard for most of us to address for multiple reasons:
1. You haven't given us very much to go on. We have no picture and very little information.
2. Most of us aren't familiar with conditions at your location (especially climate).
3. Many Gardenwebbers are not familiar with members of the Jacaranda genus. Most of the rest of us are only moderately so.

A shot-in-the-dark guess about what's wrong is soil moisture/drainage. Have you been keeping a good check on soil moisture? How have you been doing this? How have you been watering? Tell us any other information you can about this situation that you think might possibly be relevant.
