hey looks like it is perfectly placed to hide the house behind ... presuming that is not your house. .. lol ... i was going to ask why you havent lifted the canopy.. and that is when i decided it wasnt your house.. and it was serving a purpose ... 3 feet this year???? a scale is supposed to be placed near or on that which is being scaled.. it is not meant to be a wholly mammoth standing 50 feet from the tree ... lol .. woof!! .. and drool, of course ... which in dog-latin means.. have a good day ... ken

In the fall of '07 I planted a white oak acorn over an old pecan stump I had grinded, that tree is now over 12' tall. A Bur oak I planted around the same time is only half that size.

From what I've seen, white oaks can grow a bit faster than their reputation suggests, sometimes if in a good area, with lots of water, can put on 2-3 feet in a year for a few years. That's not typical, but it can happen.

Ken it is my house, excuse the junk laying all over, I start lots of projects at once and there's some caos to the yard. I have limbed up the tree in the picture since the pic was taken. I lollipoped my Burr oak too since then. I take a bunch of pics and then download them when there's lots on the camera. My Mamoth is only about 7-8 ft from the tree. He's about the size of a St. Bernard. Alabama and joescmo I have another that has grown about 3 ft but I don't have pics yet of all the new growth and I nver planned on keeping it it's in a bad place, too close to a shed.

Forgot to mention this was a volunteer I never moved from 2-3 years ago. I should've moved it the same year I saw it anyway, the barn/shed may have to go, I know the roots are probably to china/ or the neighbors house by now.
