Hi all

I was recommended in the other thread quercus pagoda. I did some reading and it does sound attractive but I cannot find any consistent information about hardiness. Some say 4. Some 7.
Does anybody have experience with them in zone 5 or less?

Contact Guy Sternberg at Starhill Forest Arboretum - easily the most knowledge about Quercus in one place.

I'm rather certain this species is growing there (near Springfield, IL) without a hiccup.

Dax (contributor here, likes conifers for some reason) is likely growing this species as well - his place is a little further north in IL, easily zone 5 conditions.

heard back from Guy!

He says he grows pagoda, but he would recommend getting seeds from northern sources. He lost some trees originating from the deep south

Cheers!
