I really can't say honestly. It seems to me, anecdotally, that many Asian counterparts to North American species end up slightly smaller, and a bit less drought tolerant than the American cousin, but otherwise rather similar.

I did come across a blog that says it's grown successfully in Adelphi, MD which is a zone 6b. I'm at 5b here in Colorado so I'm hoping it works out. Thanks for your reply!
