Can someone ID this tree for me?

We just moved to the Daytona Beach, FL area, and this tree is in our front yard. The berries are semi-soft and smell sweet. The seeds are the same color on the inside, and have lots of seeds (looks almost like am mini-tomato). Any idea what this is?
Thanks!
Jo

Perhaps it is a kumquat.

I don't think it's a kumquat. It certainly has a look of Solanaceae about it but I can't id it. Can you post some more pictures including one of the whole plant and some more the ripe fruit? Do the leaves have an unpleasant smell when crushed? And how tall is it? What is the diameter of that trunk?

No, definitely not a kumquat or other citrus. Here's what a kumquat looks like.

The way the fruit sits on the branch makes me think, could it be some kind of fig?

definitely not a fig, figs have large lobed leaves.

do the berries turn black when ripe?

Thanks for the help so far guys.

Flora_uk requested some additional photos of the entire plant, plus some more of the ripened fruit. Here are some that maybe will help.

I've been researching...do you all think it could possibly be some variety of persimmon?

houstontexas is right that it is definitely not a fig but not for the reason given. The genus Ficus has many members with unlobed leaves. But they do not have visible flowers.

Thanks for the extra pictures, joflo723. I am pretty sure it is a Solanum of some kind. Look at the link and see what you think. Your does appear to have the two unequal sized leaves.

Here is a link that might be useful: Solanum diphyllum.

Yes...that is definitely it. Thank you. A little disappointed that it's an invasive weed, but glad that I know now! Thank you very much!
