weeping norway dying!

hi so for those who saw my other post albertas... this is in a different part of my yard. i bought a bunch of trees albertas and weeping norways. they were all bunched up together waiting for about 1 month to be planted. they were all planted except the norway here which i kept in the pot. once the trees were moved and planted i was not good about watering this guy. then i noticed it starting to turn brown and drop needles. i started watering it again religiously. over the last 2 weeks it quickly dropped over 50% of its needles and i noticed this purple silver tint to the remaining needles.

is it this tree too far gone/dead? do i just compost it... can it be saved? i dont know if its bugs or fungus or what to do to help it.

if its fungus will the dropped needles that get tilled into the soil kill other plants?

its a conifer ...

the future is in the buds.. and i can not focus on any in your pic ...

the issue was improper water... how do you jump to bugs or disease ...

most likely.. you burned all the roots off with lack of water.. and extreme heat in a dry black pot in the sun ... tip it out of the pot and find out if there are many viable roots ...

as to whether it will make it.. who knows ... depends on how well its watered after planting... if it does not bud out next spring.. its dead ...

the only real issue is.. your tolerance to looking at it.. and watching it struggle for a year or two .... will it be an interesting experiment to watch.. for you ...

or will it drive you insane with worry ... and guilt????

if the latter ... just get rid of it now..

it is also a tree.. and in this case .. as to water .... the tree rules apply..
