Looks and sounds like a goner to me. : /

When was the last time you watered it? How long have the leaves been gone?
In a small pot like that it could have dried out in a very short time.
I'd say it's dead.

without a leave.. to ID it.. its near impossible to give you any ideas as to how to help it ...

but if its been brown like that for a month.. its probably dead... most things would have releafed ... by now ... shown some signs of life
