one might suggest.. that expecting a tree to root from a cutting.. INSIDE ONE WEEK ... might be a bit high in expectations ... even for a willow ...

are they tented at all ...

i would not be surprised of total leaf lose ... its probably irrelevant ...

how big are the cuttings???

if it were me.. i would throw the whole thing on the north side of the house.. for winter.. and check back.. come spring.. in may 2015 or so ... by which time.. they probably would have rooted.. right down thru the pot.. into mother earth ... lol

Hi Ken,
It's southeast asia weather here in Singapore and average around 26 to 34 degrees celsius and it's humid usually.
The thing is they were growing leaves quite fast when they were still in water but they sort of stunted after potting.
Am I missing something?

Weeping willow can not survive in Singapore anyway, they need at least a short winter.

It is too hot for them now, they need water to cool down but they do not have enough roots to suck water.

I wasn't aware that they need a winter to grow? Always had the impression that they prefer warmer temperature with more water in the soil.
I will monitor them for next few weeks for now.

The original weeping willow will not survive in the tropics but there might be some tropical tree with the same name though

As far as I can see they are looking perfectly healthy. The new growth appears fine. Dropping leaves when rooting is a self defence mechanism and is not a problem as long a the growing tips are OK. Just be patient, as Ken suggested, and watch for roots coming out of the bottom of the pot. But not tomorrow.
