Willow tree okay to plant near trench along side of road

On my road there are no sidewalks just trenches that drain water probably 3 feet deep that water is always moving down the road. Almost like a river. I was thinking about planting a willow close to that. We want a privacy wall of trees in that spot and due to many springs on our land that area is not dry. We already planted a few pines and white spruce in that piece of land and a spring directs water to that spot and we already lost a spruce as the ground was saturated. This is why I think a willow would do well plus it's next to that drain on the side of the road. Our septic will be 50 feet away in the other direction from the drain. I know they are not good for septic fields but I thought If it was placed by a drain that is essentially like a river and it is by a spring it won't head it's roots over toward the septic. What do you think? I also can get birch trees too would these be better? Thanks
